This leads to a significant effluent quality improvement by addition of following treatment stages - for biologically treated wastewaster and also for raw wastewater:
Filtration of Biologically Treated Wastewater
For advanced wastewater treatment either membrane filters are integrated into biological treatment (See HUBER Solution Membrane Bio-Reactor) or sand filters or micro-screens are added after biological treatment.
Filtration of Raw Wastewater
Mechanical pre-treatment is followed by micro-screening to remove very fine solids and (after precipitation and flocculation) even dissolved substances. In this way and under certain conditions, expensive biological treatment can be avoided.
